A Gala Event with UTP and TIFF

University of Toronto Press is very pleased to have been able to participate with TIFF for these events in the launching of Zoe Druick’s new book. With the release of Druick’s book, as well as the new Criterion Collection of Allan King’s film, a new generation of film-goers are becoming aware of Allan’s work, and based on the audience’s reaction, enjoying Allan’s contribution to Canadian cinema.

UTP and TIFF visit The Far Shore

The event, held at Jackman Hall at the AGO, featured an introduction from Johanne Sloan, the author, and Georgiana Uhlyarik, Assistant Curator, Canadian Art, Art Gallery of Ontario. Uhlyarik opened the evening with a talk about Joyce Wieland, the artist, and Tom Thomson; his art and influence on Canada. Sloan then gave a short introduction to the film, and invited attendees to stay for a discussion following the screening.
