UTP Books on “The Hill Times List of Best Books in 2016”

If any of you are readers of The Hill Times you will know that every year they do a feature on the best book of the year. This year, we were thrilled and honoured to see that of the 100 books listed, 24 of them were University of Toronto Press titles! It is wonderful to be listed so often and to be in the company of the other notable presses that can be found on the list.

To mark the publication of SickKids: A History of The Hospital for Sick Children, which chronicles the hospital’s extraordinary growth within the broader changes affecting Canadian society and medical practice over the last century, a Toronto family shares their SickKids connection over three generations. Diane (Grandma), Meghan (Mom) and Henry (Meghan’s one-year-old son) thank SickKids for saving their lives — all three were born with similar intestinal conditions that required immediate surgery after birth.
